WKWB Establishes Temporary Service Centers with School Districts

The West Kentucky Workforce Board collaborated with two local school districts to establish temporary service centers so that citizens can file new unemployment insurance claims associated with loss of employment due to Friday night's tornados, replace personal identification documents, apply for jobs, or handle other online needs. While the Paducah and Hopkinsville Career Centers, along with JobNet in Madisonville are open to assist citizens with such services, it is important to open these temporary sites so that citizens can easily access services without burden.

Sites are being established at Dawson Springs High School located 317 Eli Street in Dawson Springs, KY 42408 at which will be open on Friday, December 17th and Graves County High School, located at 1220 Eagles Way, Mayfield, KY 42066 will open on Friday, December 17th as well. Both sites will open at 8am and close at 3pm. The sites will also be open Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday of next week.

“We appreciate each school districts dedication in helping us bring such services to the communities damaged by the tornados,” said Sheila Clark, Executive Director of the Workforce Board. “Being able to use their facilities means that we can serve more people each day.”

Workforce staff, along with individuals from the Kentucky Office of Career Development and Purchase and Pennyrile Area Development District, will be available to assist individuals access the websites residents need.
