Recommendations for Workforce Board Members

The West Kentucky Workforce Board is continuously seeking recommendations for interested and qualified individuals to serve on the board.  The WKWB is dedicated to assist local businesses solve workforce related issues, improve the quality of the local workforce and make the region more economically competitive.  Recommended individuals will be selected based on the needs of the board and/or when vacancies occur.
Business / Industry members may be recommended by one of the local economic development offices, another business organization / association, or a Chamber of Commerce within the region.  Recommendations may come from one of these entities on behalf of an individual.  Each of the seventeen counties of the West Kentucky region will be represented with one Business / Industry member appointed by the County Judge/Executive.  The local elected officials and the chief local elected officials will review the recommendations and make nominations to the board.
 
Business/Industry eligibility requirements include:
  • The owner, chief executive or operating officer with optimum policy making or hiring authority.  (This may include department heads, division directors or similarly situated positions), and
  • From a business that provides employment opportunities in the region (employees other than the owner), and
  • From a business that represents in-demand industry sectors or occupations in the region.
