The role of the Local Workforce Development Board (LWDB) is system-focused and strategic in nature. As a decision-making entity, the LWDB determines priorities of service, negotiates measures, facilitates integration, and ensures quality outcomes. By understanding workforce development needs, anticipating trends, and focusing on system outcomes and performance, the LWDB can effect substantial long-term change in the economic well-being of the community. The base program of the West Kentucky Workforce Board is the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) of 2014.
The West Kentucky Workforce Board is continuously seeking recommendations for interested and qualified individuals to serve on the board.
