NDWG Employment Recovery Opportunities

The West Kentucky Workforce Board received $551,108.40 COVID-19 National Dislocated Worker Grant funding for assistance in response to the major dislocations and layoff events in western Kentucky.  In response, the WKWB created Employment Recovery to assist workers impacted by closures, layoffs, and temporary layoffs due to the pandemic.  Services planned include short-term training leading to employment opportunities in existing high demand jobs as well as emerging sectors, temporary employment to assist with humanitarian assistance, recovery, health, and safety, individualized career services and counseling, supportive services, and assistance to retain employment quickly in high demand sectors such as healthcare, trucking, and other regional needs.
