Career Center Service Changes Due to COVID-19

Due to the COVID-19 (Coronavirus) outbreak and an Executive Order by Governor Beshear, changes have been made to our manner of service in our local career centers. We wanted to provide you an update following the Governor’s Executive Order prohibiting any face-to-face services by State employees. Currently, this Executive Order will be effective at 5:00 p.m., March 17, 2020. The public will be able to be served by the local career centers via phone or teleconference. The local center phone numbers are listed below:

Hopkinsville Career Center (270) 889-6509
Paducah Career Center (270) 575-7000
JobNet Career Center (Madisonville) 270-821-9966
Career Discovery Center (Murray) (270) 809-6770

Services will be available to include: unemployment insurance filing information, program eligibility, referral to jobs and employer services. There is also a state website for Unemployment Insurance (UI) benefit applications at https://uiclaims.des.ky.gov/ebenefit/eben.htm and a phone number for UI applicants (502) 875-0442. Wait times may be longer than normal due to high volume.

We are working hard to overcome the constraints before us and will continue to adjust and make changes to assist those needing services. We are receiving updates from the Education & Workforce Development Cabinet daily as they continue to work to ensure that services are available to those in need.
